Actress/model Tanushree Dutta on Saturday filed a written application with Oshiwara police complaining against three persons about an incident with her on a movie set in 2008. She mentioned the names of actor Nana Patekar and choreographer Ganesh Acharya for sexually harassing her on the set.
Dutta tweeted on Saturday: Today filed a complaint in Oshiwara police station, in connection with 2008 movie set incident against Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya.
Oshiwara police senior inspector Shailesh Pasalwar said they had received the complaint late on Saturday. “No FIR has been registered yet. An inquiry will be conducted before deciding further action,” said Pasalwar.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Gulati has filed a complaint against Patekar and two others with the National Commission for Women (NCW) recently and urged the body to probe allegations by Dutta. She had accused Patekar of sexually harassing her in 2008. Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri have slapped Dutta with legal notices too.
The actress even lodged a complaint with Goregaon police, but she alleged that no action was taken after a crowd surrounded her car, shattered the windshield and trapped her and her parents inside.
Patekar denied the allegations and issued a legal notice to the actress. Dutta has become the face of a #MeToo campaign in Indian cinema that is pushing the industry closer to confronting its treatment of women.
Dutta stepped away from the Bollywood spotlight around 2010, and emigrated to US for a quieter life two years ago.
