New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered a Thiruvananthapuram subjudge not to meddle in the Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple matter when it was told that the lower court’s recent order impeded taking out of gold vessels from vaults C and D resulting in daily rituals under the ongoing ‘Parihar Kriya’ being affected.
A bench of Justices R M Lodha and A K Patnaik said when the apex court was seized of the matter, it was unwarranted on the sub-judge’s part to pass any order, especially when the court had said there should be no hindrance in daily rituals because of the court case.
Henceforth, no proceedings relating to the temple will be taken up by any other court except the SC, the bench said.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 23. The committee wanted construction of a new security vault in three months for storing the wealth as per the guidelines framed by Reserve Bank of India.
