Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Wednesday declared results of supplementary exams conducted for students of HSC science and general streams.
Of the 39,263 students who had appeared for general stream examination, 21,611 students that is around 55.4 per cent passed. In the science stream, of the 15,262 students who wrote their supplementary exam, 7,005 cleared it. The pass percentage in the science stream was thus only 45.
The GSHSEB officials said that the result SSC supplementary exams will be declared on Thursday.
While there are no clear admission provision for students clearing the supplementary exams into the technical courses, board officials said that they might be allowed to apply for seats that will remain vacant after the reshuffling.
It needs mention that nearly 10,000 seats are vacant in the engineering and pharmacy courses, reshuffling for which has begun. Once the second merit list is released and admissions of second round is completed, the vacant seats might be opened for admissions to students who had cleared HSC after taking supplementary exams.
The board officials said that of the 7,005 students who have cleared the HSC science supplementary examination, 2,300 have scored 45 per cent marks and thus will be eligible to apply for admission engineering and pharmacy courses.
