AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat high court on Friday sought explanation from the state government as well as the Medical Council of India (MCI) in connection with accommodation of 162 medical students in two new colleges at Sola and Gotri.
The students of KJ Mehta medical college of Jinthri in Bhavnagar district have sought relocation to other colleges after the MCI did not renew permission to run the college in absence of adequate infrastructure.
These students had first approached the government seeking accommodation in other colleges.
But when nothing happened, they approached the high court.
The high court asked MCI to decide on the issue and has summoned its secretary on July 12.
Meanwhile, the state government has also been asked to explain whether these students can be shifted to the two new colleges at Sola and Gotri.
