Justice Abhilasha Kumari of Gujarat High Court on Thursday recused herself from hearing a petition challenging the summons issued by D K Trivedi commission in the Asaram Ashram death probe. Two young boys from the Ashram had gone missing and later found dead in 2008. Asaram and his son Narayan Sai had contended the summons against them were unwarranted and should be quashed.
So far, six summons have been issued to Asaram and his son to appear before the commission. Latest summons were issued on July 26, which asked them to be present on August 2. The duo have cited some or the other excuse for not being present before the commission.
