Monetary relief for lawyers
The Bar Council of India Welfare Committee, under BCI Rule 40, has decided to give monetary relief to lawyers. More than 50,000 lawyers will be privileged by this resolution. On July 17, committee Chairman J J Patel and member Anil Kelani decided to payback Rs 7 lakh to lawyers from across Gujarat who are suffering from various illness. The committee decided to increase the payback amount from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 for all lawyers residing in Gujarat. Lawyers who have claimed for fitness relief would be given Rs 30,000 after getting permission from the Bar Council of India.
