The Supreme Court has adjourned the bail plea of DMK MP Kanimozhi to June 20.
The vacation bench of the apex court has asked the CBI to give in detail the status of the case pending in the trial court.
The apex court also asked the CBI as to what is the physical status of Rs 200 crore, which was allegedly paid to Kalaignar TV.
The bench told the accused that their chance of getting bail from the SC is slim.
However, it asked the CBI why it has not questioned the accused even once since May 20, when they were taken into custody.
The adjournment means that Kanimozhi will continue to stay in jail at least till June 20.
The bail plea of Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar has also been adjourned.
Kanimozhi and Kumar had challenged the Delhi high court verdict rejecting their bail pleas.
The high court in its ruling had said that the two accused wielded considerable clout and could influence witnesses.
Kanimozhi and Kumar were arrested on May 20 after the special court dismissed their bail pleas.
