‘If court orders, Adarsh can be demolished’
Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Saturday made it clear in the assembly that the tainted 31-storey Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society would be demolished if the court directed.
The Union environment ministry had served a three-month notice to the society. The notice period ends on April 14. The society members have challenged it in the Bombay High Court and the hearing has been fixed on April 13. “If the court directs the government to pull down the controversial building, the state administration will implement the directives given by the court,” said chief minister Prithviraj Chavan.
