New Delhi: Political circles are looking forward to the supplementary chargesheet CBI is likely to file in the 2G spectrum case on Monday. There are indications that it may feature Kanimozhi, daughter of DMK boss and Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi.
The interest of fellow politicians stems from the fact that the second chargesheet in the mega scam will focus on the transfer of Rs 214 crore from Dynamix Realty — a unit of DB Group, promoters of the scamtainted Swan Telecom — to DMK-controlled Kalaignar TV.
Kanimozhi and her mother Dayalu Ammal are directors of Kalaignar TV, holding 20% and 60% stake respectively. That the duo was aligned with sacked telecom minister A Raja in DMK’s factional equation, led CBI to suspect a quid pro quo between one of the beneficiaries of the controversial allocation of licence and 2G spectrum under Raja and his allies.
