Ahmedabad: A 19-year-old girl lodged a complaint about eveteasing with Ellisbridge police station officials on Thursday evening. A 33-year-old man was arrested in the case.
Complainant Neelam Parasiya, 19, a native of Bhuj in Kutch, who stays in Government Girls’ Hostel near Gujarat College in Ellisbridge, alleged that accused Tamin Siddiqui accosted her on his motorcycle near her hostel gate at 7.30 pm and molested her.
“The girl alleged that Siddiqui grabbed her hands and pulled her. When she shouted for help, passersby rushed to her rescue and nabbed the accused,” said an Ellisbridge police station official.
Later, the accused was identified. Siddiqui is a resident of Royal Akbar Towers, Juhapura. He works as a clerk at Gujarat high court. The officials recorded his statement on Thursday night and started investigation to know whether he was involved in any such incidents in the past.
