Ahmedabad: A special CBI court on Thursday rejected the bail plea of six customs department officials and three employees of a customs clearing firm. They were arrested by the CBI earlier this month from Mundra Port, while taking bribes from a freight forwarding company for clearing its import and export consignments.
The court remanded them to custodial interrogation. After the police remand was over, they filed bail applications, which were rejected by the special CBI judge Jyotsnaben Yagnik. One of the officials reportedly tried to burn cash, when CBI sleuths conducted a raid at his house in Surat.
