SC judge to give bar council event a miss
Ahmedabad: As the Bar Council of Gujarat (BCG) is all set for the gala celebration on the occasion of its golden jubilee year, Supreme Court Justice KS Radhakrishnan has cancelled his visit.
The SC judge was to preside over the function, which is to be inaugurated by chief minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday evening in the Gujarat high court’s premise.
Officials at the high court confirmed that Justice Radhakrishnan would not come on Sunday to preside over the function, but the reason for calling off the visit was not known. On the other hand, the office-bearers of BCG were not certain as to who would preside over the function in absence of the SC judge.
Sources said that the SC judge had informed the bar council office-bearers that he would not be able to come and wished success for the future programmes that BCG has chalked out. Justice Radhakrishnan was the chief justice in Gujarat high court before getting elevated to the Supreme Court.
