IAS COUPLE WITH 360 CRORE IN ASSETS: Income tax sleuths found suitcases stuffed with wads of Rs 1,000 notes, adding up to some Rs 3 crore, at the house of IAS couple Arvind (inset) and Tinu Joshi last February. The Enforcement Directorate has served a notice to the couple, citing foreign exchange violations. The Joshis’ assets, including huge purchases of property and agricultural land, add up to a whopping Rs 360 crore. A scam taint is not new to Arvind, though. In 1998, he was told to pay the state Rs 1 crore that he had allegedly made off Bhopal gas leak victims by overcharging for bedsheets and curtains in hospital purchases
