Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court Advocates’ Association has announced that the lawyers in the high court will go on strike from Tuesday to protest against the “step-motherly treatment accorded to the people of Gujarat and the high court” by the Centre and higher judicial authorities. A note from bar’s president Yatin Oza said that they have requested all bar associations of all the courts and tribunals across Gujarat to abstain from work on Wednesday. The bar has commented that the President of India has also shown complete bias against the state on the subject of appointment of judges. At present, the high court is functioning with only half of the total sanctioned strength.
