The Madras High Court has directed the Sub-Inspector of Police, Arakkonam, to enquire into a complaint against those responsible for damaging the statue of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Arakkonam on August 19 this year, and register a case.
Justice G.M.Akbar Ali passed the order on a petition filed by A.Mohandoss, advocate, seeking a direction to the police to register a case on his complaint dated August 23 in connection with the incident.
Additional Public Prosecutor, Hassan Mohamed Jinnah, submitted that regarding the incident another complaint had also been given by Durai Srinivas.
Recording the same, Mr.Justice Akbar Ali disposed of the petition with a direction to the Arakkonam police to enquire and register Mr.Mohandoss's case also.
