After a gap of two years, MPs and MLAs will again be able to travel on tolled highways across the country without paying a penny.
Succumbing to pressure, the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) on road, transport and highways approved the restoration of this free gift to these elected legislators on Wednesday.
A senior highway ministry official said the beneficiaries of the decision would also include vehicles of central and state governments, gallantry award winners, posts and telegraph and hearse vans.
